Website task
The purpose of my website is to make children and parents interested in my school which i am advertising to students and parents. The purpose is to advertise the school, showing parents and students the things which are availble.
The audience for my website are the children which are already at this school but mainly for the young children looking for a new school to go to. The website is targeted to interest them in the school and what them to go to the school.
The website needs to show that the school has a friendly environment and to communicate with the young children, showing achievments which have already made which can been show to future pupils.
The website will be a fun website, interactive for the young primary school children but will also have a link for the parents so they can read about the school, information about the school, its subjects and what activies the school offers etc.

Preliminary Task Story Boarding
What is a convention? Is a set of guidelines and informal rules. Conventions are needed because it gives you something to follow and it helps to make it is easier to use. The way that people do things, coming together forms conventions such as television programmes when set in series where they are lots of episodes.
Why are they useful? People expect to see them, things such as navigation bar where its easy to use and get to different pages, people know how to use these so its easier for them.
Do we have to use them all the time? We dont always have to use them but it is easier if we do with things such as a website with things like the navigation bar.
What examples of conventions are found in webdesign?
You may link to websites with examples of web conventions or screen capture them and post them on your blog.

Preliminary task: Research websites
The Lincoln College Website. The usage of colours using the colours blue and white makes us think its a clean, calm, simple enviroment. The connotations shows that its professional. The pictures seem to be warm looking so welcoming.
Manor Leas Website. The colours on this website are warm and bright which is representing the school, being a warm and welcoming school. The pictures are showing the children having fun.
Over all i have noticed that the layout of where the navigation bars are placed are similar. On two of the websites are down the left side how ever on the Minister School website the navigation bar is at the top of the page. I have also noticed that on all three websites there logos are set in the top left hand side of the website page.
