Making The Website

Stage 4 : Here you can see i added my photos, this was easy, simply by pressing insert, picture, from file and selecting the picture you want. I took my photos of animals around my house, i then plugged into the computer my camera and up loaded my photos onto the computer, this was easy by simple copying and pasting them onto my documents, i then chose the appropriate ones and added them onto my website, and placed them in the appropriate places, on the appropriate web pages. My photos will appeal to my target audience, esspically young children, they will be able to tell what animal it is and then this can get them involved in the website.

Stage 3 : This stage is where i added my navigation bar, my navigation bar has rollovers, this was done by going to the insert menu > web object > rollover. I had to make sure i had clicked on the right page of my navigation bar to get the rollover right. By making my navigation bar a rollover, i thought this would make the website more exciting, professional and colourful for my target audience, when you scroll over my nav bar the colour of light blue then molds into the main darker blue colour of the navigation bar. By my nav bar being a rollover it also helps the audience see where they have clicked.

Stage 2 : At this stage i added my logo, again this was easy i just selected my picture by going to insert, picture, from file and then clicking onto the main page. I made my logo of 3 animals which i have choosen to be my main animals for my website, i made my logo bold, one colour and easy to recognise. My logo is simple and by being only one colour it makes it bold and easy for my target audience to recognise.

Stage 2 : This was my final logo when i had added it to my website page.

Stage one: This was my first stage where i opened up my master page, I changed the dimensions to 1000pix by 600pix. By making the dimensions 1000pix by 600pix this made it just the right size for my website, it makes it a clear page, very wide for enough information etc to be placed onto it.

My Final Website

Overall i think my website appeals very well ot my target audience, it is a bold, simple website and easy to navigate around. My pictures are also very clear for my target audience to see and my video is very clear and simple as well.

My Evaluation

My task was to produce a campaign website for a charity. It had to include a video, logo, original photographs, written text, and an easy navigation bar. I decided to make a charity website for Animals as I am very interested in animals and hate to think of animals hurt therefore thought by making a charity website to help animals I could express my feelings and I am the age range of my target audience. The target audience of my website is for anyone interested in animals or who can’t cope with an animal they have, its aimed at families, but mainly young adults and over. To help my target audience I have made pages of information of what animal trust do and how the target audience can help. Because my target audience was families as well as older adults I’ve tried to make my website not so complicated so that even little children can understand it.

My layout of my website is very simple, I have an easy but quite colourful navigation bar which is along the top of the site, my logo is in the top left-hand corner, both these things are found in a lot of websites, I’ve provided a clear and easy website for all ages to understand and look at.
To help me with making my website I research some other charities websites and got some ideas of them, I also looked at the logos and how they we’re made, whether they we’re simple or quite hard logos to remember.

I have usage of all the conventions involved in creating a website such as, colour theory, photography, composition and non verbal communication. I have added these onto my blog so you can see what all of these mean. To help shout out to my target audeince i used the conventions of things such as easy navigation bar, recognisable colours and logo and also easy navigation around the whole website. I have also followed the conventions from most charity websites which is having my logo in the top left-hand corner,

If i could improve my website i would have taken more photos and possible filmed animals and put the videos of them onto my website instead of just photos, i would also make more links at the side of my home page which could help my target audience find out more about animal trust and also get more involved. I would have liked a video of someone who brought a pet into animals trust and seen the stages the animal went through untill they were healthy again and rehomed, this would be very helpfull and maybe make more people understand that animals do have feelings and suffer pain but then also can be very happy and rewarding to us humans. I liked the colour usage of my website, the calm blue colours i think worked well together, i also was pleased with my logo, i think having cartoon pictures of the animals was fun and also the paw print in the middle i think symbolises how the animal are brought together and how if we help them they will help us, in a humourous way they will lend a hand if we do too.

Non Verbal Communication

Expression- based on the look on the persons face or the look of the picture chosen.

Eye contact- the appeal of the picture to them .

Clothes-important as they communicate to the audience .

Body movement- relates to the act that the actor is presenting. Positional communication Relationships between the actor shown in the picture, the direction they are facing, the height. These can show their relationships and status.

Reciprocal- a two-way relationship in which each person is the centre of the other’s attention. For example two people looking at each other.

Divergent- each person’s attention is diverted towards something different. For example everyone in a photo could be looking at a stage where someone is stood.

Object- the attention of each person is directed towards the same object. For example again everyones attention can be seen by someone standing on something high and everyone looking up to them.
